Vanessa Jackson, Security+

A senior software engineer at Carnegie Mellon University’s Software Engineering Institute (SEI), Vanessa Jackson transformed her early career from working as a technical writer to becoming a full-stack developer. Since joining the SEI in 2012, Vanessa has continued to fulfill a wide variety of roles, including database engineer, DevSecOps engineer, and team lead. Drawing on her expertise, Vanessa leads Department of Defense components through the process of identifying and understanding complex software problems and crafting sustainable solutions.
